New sales staff appointed to underpin Red Spider's ongoing growth

Red Spider, the remote open close technology specialist serving the international oil & gas industry, has expanded its sales team with the appointment of a further two people.

Sales engineer Euan Fraser and senior sales engineer Richard McKimmie have joined the UK sales team to help strengthen customer relations and develop business opportunities as part of Red Spider’s ongoing growth strategy.

Each has more than 17 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Mr Fraser has worked with Hydrafit Subsea and Baker Oil Tools, while Robert Gordon University graduate Mr McKimmie was latterly a service manager at Halliburton Energy Services, working with Schlumberger prior to that.

Red Spider employs over 50 people at its Aberdeen HQ and worldwide operations and recently received £7.5million ($11.3million) growth equity to accelerate internationalisation of the business and complete the commercialisation and roll out of remote open close well intervention and completion technologies.

The new recruits to the sales team will play a key role in generating additional take-up of the game-changing eRED (electronic remote equalising device) which has saved operators many hours of rig time and reduced risk across several fields, as well as the latest offerings from the technology-driven company, the PowerBall™ reservoir isolation barrier and the self-contained, downhole hydraulic power and control unit eMOTION™.

Red Spider Chief Executive Officer Steve Nicol said: “eRED is on its way to becoming the industry standard solution for a range of downhole applications and we are confident our new, smart additions to Red Spider’s remote open close technology range will be widely welcomed for subsea operations giving even greater cost savings to our customers.
