Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) has signed a contract with Havyard Design & Solutions to deliver a complete Diesel Electric solution for Esvagt’s new vessel: a HD 831 Service Operation Vessel. Whilst the offshore market remains slow, NES has focused on other market segments such as ferry and fishing vessels during this period.

“This will be our eighth system delivery to Esvagt, which shows that Esvagt is a very important customer for NES. It also means that we are competitive both within our traditional market segment as well as the new,” says Tor Leif Mongstad, president & CEO in NES.

The vessel will be built at Astilleros Zamakona Santurzi Shipyard in Spain and will be ready for delivery in August 2019. The other seven vessels were built at ASL Shipyard in Singapore, Cemre Shipyard in Turkey and Astilleros Zamakona Santurzi in Spain.

Esvagt has signed a contract with the wind-power company MHI Vestas and the ship will be operating at the Offshore Wind Farm Deutsche Bucht.

“NES’ goal is to design and deliver innovative, reliable, effective and environmentally friendly solutions as well as performing the best possible service for the customer. Esvagt is a demanding and interesting customer to work with and they have high expectations of reliability and continuity. We appreciate the cooperation we have with Esvagt,” says Henry Myhre, who is the sales representative for this project. “This keeps us on our toes and contributes to developing us as a system integrator.”
