IntraPoint, the U.S. and Norway-based provider of the incident and crisis handling solution Crisis Manager™, declare that Noreco has decided to implement IntraPoint’s incident and crisis handling solution. The contract secures IntraPoint’s position as the leading provider of emergency preparedness software for the oil and gas industry in the North Sea region. The implementation has started and the solution is scheduled to go live by the end of Q1 2009.

The solution will meet and support Noreco’s drilling operations in 2009. Noreco selected Crisis Manager for its ability to integrate external resources with Noreco’s internal organization in a seamless way.

Noreco is an independent oil and gas company that aims to be a long term leading player in the North Sea. Noreco operates in Norway, Denmark and the United Kingdom with production from seven offshore fields. Noreco will implement Crisis manager based on Best Practice implementation and training process for the oil and gas industry. IntraPoint will use high level industry expertise to secure a successful implementation.

“Noreco has made a strategic decision to establish an in-house emergency preparedness organization”, says Stig Frøysland, Vice President HSE/HR at Noreco. “Our people, their competencies and commitment to succeed, are at the core of our strategy. We will ensure that Noreco has, and maintains, competitive competencies in all key disciplines. We know IntraPoint’s solution will become a strong platform and give us the competitive edge we seek in our emergency preparedness organization,” says Frøysland.

“A significant number of new companies are scheduled to launch activity on the Norwegian continental shelf, and we are proud that Noreco has decided to extend their emergency preparedness organization competencies through the implementation of Crisis Manager,” says Idar Voldnes, CEO and President of IntraPoint. ”By implementing Noreco’s emergency preparedness plan into our solution, Noreco will be prepared for making rapid and consistent notification and mobilization measures, both internally and externally. Noreco will have real time awareness on status and actions, consistent reporting and automatic log,” says Voldnes who sees IntraPoint’s solution as a de facto industry standard in the North Sea.
