Norway’s Round 20 of licensing has attracted twice as many bids as in the last acreage auction, as oil companies hope intensifies for big finds of oil and gas in the North Sea, Norwegian Sea and Barents Sea.

The Norwegian Oil and Energy Ministry said 46 companies hope to be winners when announcements are made in spring 2009.

Fisheries comment was solicited on the proposed licensing blocks, and as a result seismic will be limited to times between key catches.
