Aberdeen-based Offshore Container Holdings Limited (OCHL) has appointed a new Group Operations Director.
Stuart Heggie, 46, will play a major role in synchronising overseas operations at OCHL – which was formed in 2008 to invest in the oil services sector. Initially, his role will focus on the group’s expansion plans in the North Sea and South East Asian markets.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the offshore industry, Stuart has worked for both contractors and operators. He joins OCHL from North Sea operator Talisman Energy (UK) where he was at the forefront of North Sea decommissioning operations, spending almost two years as the firm’s Decommissioning Developments Engineer. Prior to that, he worked for Wood Group within the decommissioning team, overseeing the company’s UK decommissioning activities.
Having also spent a number of years in both the onshore and offshore modular construction sector, Stuart played an instrumental role in the early successes of Consafe Engineering and US-based MD Totco, leading teams in the successful construction and integration of worldwide modular projects located in Japan, Norway, North Sea, Holland, West Africa, France, USA and Portugal.
Stuart commented: “I am really looking forward to being part of OCHL’s aggressive plans to become the world’s leading supplier of specialist offshore cabins, containers and modular solutions. I believe my experience and knowledge will help to develop the group’s operational presence locally and overseas and will help to increase the uptake of OCHL’s products and services among the main operators within all sectors and regions of the oil and gas industry.”
OCHL Chief Executive John Heiton added: “The appointment of Stuart is a crucial move for OCHL. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the module business as well as extensive knowledge from both a contracting and operating perspective. This will give us a valuable insight for strategically driving our projects forward to successful completions.
“As a customer-focused organisation, we strive to place client needs at the forefront of our business priorities. Customers’ confidence in our 24/7 support means that returning clients account for a large percentage of our business and by having someone with Stuart’s experience and knowledge at the helm of our operations, we hope to take this to a new level.”
