Offshore Solutions B.V. (OSBV) is celebrating another significant achievement in the operation of the Offshore Access System (OAS).
The OAS, mounted onboard the GDF SUEZ E&P Nederland B.V. (GSEPN) chartered vessel, REM Mermaid, has achieved over 1,000 operational connections without any LTIs.
Weighing approximately 24 tonnes, the OAS has safely transferred more than 9,000 personnel in the last year, working in the Dutch sector of the Southern North Sea.
OSBV’s General Manager, Ian Sadler, said: “This milestone is a further major achievement for Offshore Solutions. To accomplish this without any lost time incidents, consistently proves that our step changing technology continues to be one of the safest and most efficient options for accessing offshore installations.”
The OAS is now wholly established within the Southern North Sea and continues to improve manpower productivity and safety on both manned and unmanned installations. This third SNS OAS has been in continual use since February 2009, demonstrating the competence and quick turnaround of the team onboard the REM Mermaid.
The REM Mermaid is a multi purpose supply vessel, equipped with a class two dynamic positioning system; it is ideally suited to support the OAS.
