Origin Energy, as a participant in the T/34P Joint Venture, advises that as at 06:00 hours EDT on Thursday 29 October 2009 the Somerset 1 well is at 2,912m.

Somerset 1 is located in exploration permit T/34P, operated by Woodside Energy Ltd some 17km southwest of the Thylacine gas field.

Somerset 1 is planned as a vertical well. The final surface location is:

Latitude: 39° 20’ 36.757” S Longitude: 142° 44’ 56.144” E

Water depth at the Somerset 1 location is 503m. Planned total depth of the well is 3,305mTVDSS. The primary objectives are sandstones within the Late Cretaceous Sherbrook Group.
