Petrobras releases its oil and natural gas production figures for December and 2011 average.
Petrobras’ average oil and natural gas output in 2011, in Brazil and overseas, was 2,621,209 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), up by about 1.4% from last year’s average. Domestic oil and natural gas production reached 2,376,359 boed, of which 2,021,779 relate only to oil. These figures correspond to an increase of 1.7% and 0.9% respectively, from last year’s average.
In December, average oil and natural gas output was 2,715,809 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), up 1.2% from the total volume extracted in November 2011.
Average oil and natural gas output from domestic fields reached 2,465,828 boed, up 1.7% from November 2011. Figuring in the exclusive production of oil from domestic fields, the company produced 2,084,262 barrels per day, up 1.1% from November.
The December output increase was primarily due to the going on stream of new fields in platforms P-57 (Jubarte) and P-56 (Marlim Sul), both in Campos Basin and of FPSO-Angra dos Reis, in Lula field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt.
In December, average natural gas production from domestic fields reached 60,664,000 m³/d, up 5.3% from the same previous month.
