Petsec Energy has commenced drilling on 24 April 2015 on the Holcombe No. 1 well. The well is being drilled on the English Bayou Deep exploratory prospect, in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. The prospect is located approximately 12 miles northeast of the city of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Petsec Exploration and Production, L.L.C. is designated operator of the well.

The well is being drilled as a straight hole to a true vertical depth of 13,000 feet to test the oil and gas potential of multiple Eocene age Yegua sands trapped in a structural fault closure. The prospect is located on trend to the Southeast Lunita, Buxton Creek, and Beckworth Creek - North fields and is down-dip from Yegua sand production at Barnes Creek and Indian Village fields. The well is expected to take approximately 40 days to drill and log.
