PG Pump Solutions (PG) and Techni are awarded the prestigious price of being in the Spotlight on new Technology for 2011 at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston – in May.
The PG-MAPS® - Multi Application Pump Solution -is designed in order to obtain a more compact, light-weight and cost effective pumping system applicable for several subsea and topside applications.
This is achieved by utilising and combining known technologies by PG and Techni
The PG-MAPS was designed by PG to meet the wide range of subsea pumping requests from the market. By utilizing a software controlled linear actuating system with a permanent magnet motor from Techni combined with a proven topside pump head technology from FELUWA Pumpen, the PG-MAPS® was designed to obtain several technical and cost-efficient advantages.
The combination of compact design, high capacity and high pressure makes this solution an extremely robust pump system well suited for difficult applications subsea and topside. The pump is small enough to be transported by truck and can be a part of the standard equipment onboard supply vessels or platforms. Typical applications include, but are not limited to the following subsea and topside applications:
• Subsea Mud & Drill cuttings handling, tophole drilling, deep waters
• Subsea/ Topside High Pressure Injection of water or chemicals
• Subsea Liquid Boosting, condensate, water, crude
• Subsea Heavy Oil Boosting
• Well Intervention & Fracking
A full scale pilot version of the pump has been tested during 2010 with excellent results. Capacity, discharge pressure and pulsation free operation has been verified.
The Pump is self-priming, does not need a traditional subsea or topside VSD and may be powered by both AC and DC.
The PG-MAPS® enables the use of the ultimate pump principle for challenging fluids in the E&P industry, for applications and locations where a pump principle with crankcase arrangement previously was impossible to implement, i.e. subsea mining
