Ramco PCU

Portlethen-based Ramco Tubular Services Ltd goes from strength to strength and following a number of investments aimed at developing its capabilities, the company has announced the launch of new technology developed by a team of in-house engineers.

The third generation of Ramco’s innovative Pipe Care Unit (PCU3) is a demonstration of Ramco’s PCU approach, building on 30 years of developing innovative and efficient technology. It allows for cleaning, inspection and coating of tubulars in a self-contained, controlled working environment.

Ramco’s commitment to Pipe Care Excellence combined with the PCU approach has contributed to a reduction in clients’ tubular rejection rates from 30% to less than 1%, reducing downtime, improving safety and ultimately reducing production costs.

The PCU is a completely self-contained unit housed within two ISO-standard containers to create a processing area including its own optional power and air generation package, and water recycling system. This proprietary technology developed by Ramco’s engineers allows the services to be delivered to any location required by a client or a specific job, providing a single solution for tubular cleaning and inspection anywhere in the world, set up and commissioned within 48 hours. Not only is the process mobile and efficient, but it results in the safer, environmentally friendly more efficient running of pipe.
