Nominations are now being accepted for the 2014 Platts Global Energy Awards, which recognize corporate and individual excellence within the energy industry. A total of 18 awards will be given in five sections: Strategic Vision, Industry Leadership, Stewardship, Premier Projects and Leading Technologies. All nominations must be received by September 15, 2014.

The Awards program, often described as "the Oscars of Energy" and now in its 16th year, routinely draws hundreds of nominations from energy and non-energy companies alike.

“Not only does the industry continue to develop cleaner energy solutions and find new ways to extract resources, but it continues to mine efficiencies in production and energy use, all of which are literally changing the face and flow of resource distribution,” said Murray Fisher, producer of the Global Energy Awards program at Platts, a leading global energy, metals, petrochemicals and agriculture information provider. “We’re pleased to once again honor the companies and individuals who are leaders of innovation, helping to secure reliable and sustainable energy for future generations.”
