Polarcus Naila-2

Polarcus Ltd. Says that in collaboration with DownUnder GeoSolutions, the firm has completed a major new basin wide multi-client 3D seismic program across the boundary between the Roebuck and Northern Carnarvon Basins offshore Australia's North West Shelf.

We have acquired an area of 8,544 square miles (22,130 square kilometers) of high resolution broadband 3D seismic data covering the recent Phoenix South-1X oil field discovery and surrounding blocks in an area previously assumed to be gas prone.

The recent Phoenix South oil discovery has opened up a new oil-prone fairway within one of the few remaining underexplored parts of the north-west shelf. The Capreolus 3D survey will provide numerous opportunities for reduced risk and play-based exploration targeting Triassic and Jurassic structural and stratigraphic targets.
