In line with the introduction of the all new SAILOR 6000 GMDSS Series, Thrane & Thrane will unveil a sophisticated new MF/HF radio at SMM 2010. The new SAILOR 6300 MF/HF builds on previous successful MF/HF systems designed by Thrane & Thrane to meet GMDSS requirements and offers several enhancements including the implementation of the all new ThraneLINK solution.

The SAILOR 6300 MF/HF features a highly efficient power amplifier with control hardware to ensure high performance and reliable communication in the marine bands from 1.6 to 30 MHz in TX mode, and ensures constant and full output power on all ITU channels. It is available in 150W, 250W and 500W versions and features exceptional cooling, which helps to make it durable, rugged and reliable. The High quality 3.2" QVA graphical display ensures that the new intuitive and easy to operate menu structure can be read night and day, and a 6W internal loudspeaker provides excellent sound quality and simpler installation.

The SAILOR 6300 MF/HF is also the first MF/HF ever to feature message replay functionality. The SAILOR Replay system enables easy access to recordings of the last 240 seconds of messages, enhancing safety because operators can ensure all messages are clearly understood by listening to the whole message or sections of it again.

As part of the innovative new Thrane & Thrane SAILOR 6000 GMDSS Series, the SAILOR 6300 MF/HF features the unique new ThraneLINK solution. ThraneLINK is a sophisticated, uniform communication protocol that connects all the SAILOR products in a network, offering important new opportunities to all vessels. It enables a service technician to access all the SAILOR products from a single point for fast diagnostics and easy upload of new software. This results in optimized maintenance and lower cost of ownership because less time is needed for trouble shooting and general service. Additionally, the sophisticated ThraneLINK protocol automatically identifies new products in the system, making installation easier. The uniform protocol is an open standard that provide a future proof solution for all vessels.

The SAILOR 6300 MF/HF can communicate with other products in the SAILOR 6000 GMDSS Series. Built in battery and supply voltage monitoring also covers the backup batteries so there is no need for a battery panel in the GMDSS console. Additionally, instead of connecting the SAILOR 6300 MF/HF to an external GPS, the GPS input can be taken from the new SAILOR 6110 mini-C GMDSS via the already connected ThraneLINK. Therefore, no additional cabling is needed.

The SAILOR 6300 MF/HF is a high-end communications system in its own right, which also features Thrane & Thrane's next generation of easy-to-use radiotelex software. It complies with the requirement for MF/HF DSC Class A, which is part of the mandatory requirements for SOLAS vessels, and many national GMDSS requirements. It is developed and designed to meet the needs of professional mariners operating in a wide variety of vessels including high seas fishing vessels, merchant/offshore ships and workboats.
