ACE Winches, a global deck machinery specialist, is marking a year of project successes in Asia-Pacific at the Offshore South East Asia Conference and Exhibition, OSEA, taking place from 29 November – 2 December in Singapore.

These projects are varied in scope and requirements, and include the mobilisation from the UK of a 200-te and 400-te Reel Drive System (RDS) package with operators and technicians. The RDS was used as part of a mooring line deployment on the Malikai Development, a deep-water project located in Malaysia.

The company also supplied a 50-te SWL 4-Track Tensioner to support operations on the Ichthys Gas Field Development. This field is located in Browse Basin, 220 kilometres offshore Western Australia and is the largest discovery of hydrocarbon liquids in Australia for 40 years.

This is in addition to the provision, earlier in the year, of a chain winch solution for the Ichthys project that included a 200-te Twin Chainlifter Hydraulic Package and two 50-te WLL Twin Chainlifter Hydraulic Winches with associated HPUs. During the last 12 months the chain winches have completed several projects in Oceania region. The specialised deck machinery deployed for Ichthys project were engineered, designed, and manufactured in-house at their global base in the UK.

During 2016 the company’s hire fleet has continued to expand including the addition of a new 500-te Linear Winch and a 500-te Reel Drive System.

Alfie Cheyne, CEO, ACE Winches says of the recent wins in the region: “ACE Winches has been supporting clients in the southern hemisphere for nearly two decades. With over 25 years of global experience we have the expertise and ability to offer a range of solutions to address our clients’ requirements, and we will continue to expand and develop our already extensive fleet of specialised deck equipment.”

“Even in the current environment I am pleased that ACE Winches continues to collaborate with our clients in the region, with a full range of products and services, for a wide variety of projects and applications. We look forward to building on the success of this year and strengthening our market presence here even further throughout 2017,” adds Cheyne.
