IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, an IDENTEC GROUP company, reported that its Personnel Safety Solution WATCHERSYSTEM, has been selected for deployment at the Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company, SKB, for their underground Hard Rock Laboratory on Äspö island.

The mandate of the SKB facility is to conduct cutting-edge research on the most effective management and disposal methods possible to secure maximum safety for human beings and the environment. Personnel Safety Solution WATCHERSYSTEM was able to meet all SKB’s safety criteria for their underground facility. By further leveraging the expertise of Sweden-based NEOSYS AB, a RFID-based security solutions provider for the nuclear industry, IDENTEC SOLUTIONS was able to tailor a wireless tracking system that surpassed the requirements set forth by SKB Äspö Hard Rock Laboratory.
