International marine and engineering consultancy LOC Group has been appointed to provide marine warranty services (MWS) and consultancy services for Tengizchevroil’s Future Growth Project-Wellhead Pressure Management Project, the next major expansion of the Tengiz oil field.

LOC is providing both MWS and consultancy services, using the Group’s specialist expertise and experiences for load out and transportation of the heavy lifts and project assets.

LOC’s support to the project is expected to continue for another three years. A core team of 10-15 highly skilled LOC professionals have been dedicated to the project, and extra resources will support depending on the skills and geographical requirements.

Shai Tzucker, Energy Operations Director, LOC London says, “This very significant project clearly establishes LOC as the leading industry provider of marine advisory services for modular transport, specifically for heavy lifts on mid and downstream projects and large energy construction projects where marine risks exist.”

LOC has provided similar expert services for Chevron’s Gorgon gas project in Australia and Total’s Yamal LNG project in the Russian Arctic, but the Tengizchevroil project is on a much larger scale.

Peter Baggaley, Group Energy Director – Europe & Africa, LOC Group adds: “This is a complex project, and to support the client we have embedded a core team of our staff who are both experienced and highly trained in this area, to help with the early design and methodology considerations. LOC is extremely proud to be part of such a ground-breaking project and we value our ongoing relationship with Chevron enormously, the Tengizchevroil project builds on our past contracts with the company and our established successful working relationships.”
