Prosafe provides operational update for the third quarter of 2009

Prosafe - rig Jasminia

Prosafe says rig utilisation in the third quarter of 2009 was 96 per cent.

MSV Regalia started operation for BP at the Valhall field in the Norwegian North Sea on 12 July and has been in operation throughout the rest of the third quarter.

Safe Scandinavia started operation for Shell at the Shearwater field in the UK North Sea at the end of July.

Safe Astoria was in layup at the Kemaman yard in Malaysia most of the third quarter, after SEIC in the beginning of February terminated the contract for convenience. During the third quarter, Prosafe has received 85 per cent of the day rate from SEIC. Safe Astoria commenced a new contract for Shell at the Malampaya Shallow Water Platform offshore Palawan in the Philippines in early October.
