The new Soil Corrosion Rate Monitor from Rohrback Cosasco Systems, measures corrosion rate, quickly and easily, in a wide range of soils.
The Soil Corrosion Rate Monitor allows pipeline operators to quantitatively determine soil corrosivity for the External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA) pre-assessment process, at the time of the pipe excavation or inspection.
Determining the level of soil corrosivity before pipeline construction begins allows proper measures to be taken to minimize future replacement and maintenance costs incurred by corrosion damage.
The Soil Corrosion Rate Monitor consists of RCS's portable Corrater® Aquamate LPR instrument and the new soil corrosion rate probe. The Aquamate™ Corrater LPR instrument is an electrochemical corrosion rate measurement with an added patented Solution Resistance Compensation (SRC) to extend the range of soils in which measurements can be made.
The Soil Probe with its' replaceable cone shaped tip and rugged construction makes it ideal for field use along new or existing pipelines.
The Soil Corrosion Rate Monitor provides:
• Quick and Easy Direct Corrosion Rate Measurements
• Quantitative Soil Corrosivity Determination for ECDA Pre-assessment Process
• Heavy Duty Construction Suitable for Field Use
• Applicability in a Wide Range of Soils
• Quicker and More Accurate Than Standard Test Methods, Saving Time and Money
• Replaceable Probe Head
