Red Spider appoints Chief Operating Officer

David Allan

Red Spider has appointed David Allan as Chief Operating Officer to complete its management team.

Mr Allan has worked for more than 17 years in the in the Oil Chemicals Sector, latterly as Operations Manager at Intertek Testing Services. In the role, he was involved in the significant growth of the Aberdeen business over a six year period with the company.

A Robert Gordon University graduate with a young family, he has also recently qualified as a Chartered Chemist. He said: “I have had the opportunity to deal with well intervention and reservoir engineering regularly in the past and am looking forward to expanding on my experience and to the challenge of joining such an ambitious and well-respected team. Red Spider has a dynamic and focused team with a range of products and services bespoke to the Oil and Gas Industry. It is an exciting time to join this vibrant team and I look forward to being a part of the continued success of the business, driving for significant local and international growth."

Growth equity funding of £7.5million from Energy Ventures and Simmons Parallel Energy Fund is helping Red Spider to accelerate commercialisation and roll-out of what is accepted by industry as game-changing well technology that can save operators nearly $1million during single operations.

It is also supporting a comprehensive internationalisation plan most immediately covering Asia-Pacific and the Americas, two regions with enormous scope for the specialist Remote Open Close products.
