Aberdeen based Reflex Marine, global experts in marine personnel transfer, has appointed a new board member to help meet the demands of global growth, particularly in the Americas, and diversification of the company’s products and service portfolio.

David Brittan, a graduate of mechanical engineering from Sheffield University, began his career as a drilling engineer with BP in 1987. He has since worked with a number of major oil and gas companies, with considerable international experience. He held the position of Worldwide Well Engineering Manager for BG Group and a coordinating role on the giant Karachaganak project in Kazakhstan. He has worked in key markets across the globe, including Yemen, Indonesia and Pakistan.

His appointment to the board will strengthen the company’s technical capability and management team as it strives to grow and expand its portfolio of products and services.

Developer of the Frog personnel transfer capsule, Reflex Marine has set the standard for moving people safely by crane offshore over the last ten years. Philip Strong, managing director of Reflex Marine, said: “I have known David since his early career with BP and was always impressed by his energy, progressive approach, and openness to new thinking. He will add important strengths to our developing team and will play a key role in our plans to expand our operations.”
