Reservoir Group

Reservoir Group has established an engineering office in the heart of Continental Europe to further harness its global expertise in the downhole drilling, completion and production sectors and to complement its strong presence in Aberdeen. The new premises at Weiswampach, north Luxembourg, will act as the hub for Reservoir's specialist team of design engineers and reinforces their support to Reservoir Group's growing cast of companies and clients around the world.

The engineering team plays a fundamental role within Reservoir Group for designing and developing innovative technologies and bringing cost-effective solutions to the industry. Having its base in Luxembourg also means that Reservoir Group is in a privileged position to both access various specialist suppliers and nurture collaboration with universities.

Technical director, Philippe Cravatte, who leads the team, said, 'The new office underpins the high value of our engineering capabilities and our commitment to working in synergy with fellow companies within the Group - from our coring services providers Corpro and Dowdco to our downhole drilling tools business, X Drilling Tools. From Texas to Australia, we are well positioned to provide all our Group locations with an excellent and proactive service. We will continue to build our engineering team which, through its creativity and expertise, is focused on providing technical support on existing and new products as well as developing new proprietary technologies.

'We also recognise the importance of our design engineers remaining connected with the field and they will continue to be involved at the early stage of a product life which includes accompanying the product on the field. The team is looking forward to be working on many new projects and transforming them into successful technologies.'

On top of ongoing coring services projects for Corpro and Dowdco, including refinement of the iCore instrumented sub, further development to the Group's proprietary liquid and gas trapping coring solutions and the development of a new pressure recording gauge, the engineering team has also been working with core handling specialist Kirk Petrophysics on an advanced version of Xtreme UV, and progressing a new multi-activation circulating sub for downhole drilling tools division X Drilling Tools.

Reservoir Group's new engineering office mirrors the company's successful strategy for continued international growth. It has rapidly evolved as a leader in its field through a combination of organic expansion and its focus on attracting niche, market-leading companies to join the Group.

Reservoir Group's chief executive officer Pascal Bartette said, 'Our fundamental goal is to continue to deliver superior solutions to the industry by developing an autonomous group of service providers specialising in niche activities which centre on the reservoir. We are achieving this through new businesses joining our unique structure as well as by capturing the synergies that can be built within the Group. Our Luxembourg engineering office will be a vital part of this effort. Bringing our engineering expertise under one umbrella provides us with the perfect platform to support our evolving Group on a geographical scale as well as to foster our creative talents.'

Reservoir Group has so far invested in Corpro, Dowdco, Kirk Petrophysics, Omega Data Services, Extreme, InfoAsset and most recently Enigma Data Solutions. Enigma provides sophisticated information management software and consultancy services to the oil and gas industry including a number of blue chip clients.
