Reservoir Link, the well intervention and perforating solutions provider, has been awarded a contract to deliver annulus wash and cementing assurance (AWCA) equipment and services with Archer, the global oilfield services company, to ROC Oil (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd in Southeast Asia.

The project, which is estimated to commence in Q4 2017, will see the companies provide equipment and services for ROC Oil’s Phase 2 drilling campaign offshore Malaysia, where wells will be plugged and abandoned for slot recovery.

The 1-year contract – which comes with a 1-year extension option – includes the provision of AWCA equipment and services, Tubing Conveyed Perforating (TCP) guns and charges, and associated services including planning and technical support.

“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract for ROC Oil,” says Dato’ Wan Hassan Mohd Jamil, CEO for Reservoir Link.

“Our collaborative working relationship with Archer offers a reliable, integrated plug and abandonment (P&A) solution for the Asia Pacific market. We look forward to providing this cost-effective and technology-driven service to ROC Oil, enabling them to achieve their P&A objectives safely and efficiently.”

Hugo Idsøe, Archer Vice President and Managing Director for Archer Oiltools, adds, “In line with our mandate to deliver better wells, our technologies, such as Stronghold™, deliver faster and smarter P&A solutions, while minimising environmental impact.”

Archer’s Stronghold™ perforating, washing and cementing systems provide an economic and effective alternative to traditional P&A solutions. By eliminating the need for milling, Stronghold™ delivers a step-change in efficiency for P&A and other operations.
