GENOA-based classification society RINA has strengthened its service delivery to clients by reorganising its regional management of the Marine Division. Service delivery will now be the responsibility of three regional managers in Asia, the Americas and Europe.
"This new structure improves client liaison and clarifies responsibilities. It puts RINA's services close to the clients and allows the regional managers to tailor their services and resources to the specific needs of each region," says Antonio Pingiori, head of RINA's marine division.
The three new regional managers are:
Stefano Bertilone - Europe
Michele Francioni - Asia
Massimo Volta - Americas
The regional managers report direct to Antonio Pingiori and have full responsibility for operations in their regions. "Good service is one reason why our Chinese-owned fleet doubled last year to 2.1m gt," says Pingiori.
"We are seeing strong gains in other areas, as once an owner tries our service, they bring more vessels to RINA class. By creating a strong regional structure we can make sure the technical core and
quality are kept at the highest level, but sharpen and tailor the service delivery to best meet the needs and culture of each region."
