Saltire Energy has been awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Society accolade at the 2014 Northern Star Business Awards, as a result of its on-going support of local charity initiatives.

The prestigious black tie ceremony, which took place on 25 September at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, recognised companies for their outstanding performance and achievements in business. Categories also included Excellence in Health and Safety, Commitment to People Development and Commitment to Innovative Use of Research and Development.

Through its Saltire in the Community Programme, Saltire Energy has established and supported a number of local sporting initiatives aimed at enhancing the fitness, health and well-being of disadvantaged children. The company has also donated substantial funds to local charity, Befriend a Child, and the Aberdeen Sports Village Aquatics Centre.
