About 60 guests and a number of Santos employees were on hand for the opening of Santos' new Narrabri office on December 20, 2012.

The opening coincided with the town’s annual Christmas Carnival street fair which added to the celebratory mood and allowed locals to stop in and meet the Santos team.

Energy NSW General Manager, Peter Mitchley welcomed guests before inviting Narrabri Chamber of Commerce President Richard Orr to cut the ribbon and officially open the shopfront.

The office gives Santos a prominent presence in the town’s main shopping strip which will be increasingly important as the current CSG exploration program expands and operations continue to grow and develop.

The local community team will staff the office which will also serve as an information centre for locals interested in learning more about Santos’ operations in the district and to host community presentations, meetings and information sessions.

Santos employs around 30 people in the Narrabri area, in north western NSW which is the location of Santos’ most advanced CSG activities in the state. It is also home to Santos Operations Centre which is Energy NSW’s main field base.
