SAS

SAS, a Dutch manufacturer of specialized equipment to both the international oil & gas and maritime industries, has acquired 33,33 % of Norwegian company AXTech. The acquisition of shares in AXTech AS follows SAS' strategy to further broaden its position as supplier of engineered deck equipment for the offshore industry.

AXTech is specialized in designing and manufacturing of Riser or Buoy Pull-In Winches (in or excluding Heave Compensation) for FPSO’s. As well as A-frames and Rail/Skid Trolley Systems for construction vessels/barges. For the Well Intervention market AXTech has supplied complete Module Handling Systems (MHS) including Towers, Module Pallet Skids, Winches, Guide Wire Systems, Moonpool Doors and Guide Frames;

SAS has been established in 1896 and is market leader for supplying offshore pipelaying equipment, such as Tensioners, A&R Winches, Pipe Handling Equipment, Reel Drives, and Davits, for shallow water as well as (ultra) deepwater. Furthermore SAS is a reliable manufacturer of heavy duty Winches (single drum or traction) for mooring, cranes, deployment and anchor handling and towing applications.

Both AXTech and SAS are very enthusiastic about this new alliance, which establishes a strong party, who is able to supply their customers with complete systems or engineered equipment packages.
