Senex Energy Limited-3

Senex Energy Limited drilling activities are currently focused on oil exploration in the South Australian Cooper-Eromanga Basin. The FY15 work program will be released with the company's FY14 results on 26 August 2014.

The Sabre-1 exploration well was drilled to test the oil-bearing potential of the mid-Birkhead Sandstone approximately 2 kilometres southwest of the Snatcher-9 production well. EDA Rig 3 commenced drilling the vertical well on 14 July 2014 and reached a total depth of 1,900 metres.

The well encountered good oil shows but the reservoir was poorly developed. The well was subsequently drill stem tested and recovered a small amount of water with a trace of oil. As a result, the well was plugged and abandoned.
