Sirte Oil makes commercial discovery onshore Libya

Libya's NOC confirmed that the Sirte Oil Company made a commercial oil and gas discovery in the Sirte Basin onshore Libya, approximately 6 km southeast of the Nasser oil field.

The YYYY1-6 well was drilled to a total depth of 7,806 feet, and was declared commercially viable following an initial production test of the Waha Formation at a depth of 7, 525 - 7, 537 feet.

On a 1/2 inch production choke, the well tested 789 barrels of oil per day and 0.842 mmscf of gas per day, with a 36.5 degree API gravity.
