REC, the European supplier of solar panels globally, will be presenting its latest concept technology at Solar Energy UK, October 8-10 in Birmingham, England.

REC will present its half-cut cell technology, a result of its extensive research and development into efficient cell design, at the British Photovoltaic Association booth (Stand H12). The cells are half the size of the cells used in regular 60-cell panels. This new design reduces internal losses, leading to improved performance in energy yield especially at times of high irradiance.

“Advances in technology, such as half-cut cells, are vital steps in bringing the most innovative solar technology to all segments – residential, commercial and industrial as well as large-scale power plants,” highlighted Luc Graré, Senior Vice President Solar Sales and Marketing, REC. “The UK solar market has great potential for growth and we are confident new solutions such as this will help support large-scale adoption of solar power.”
