Shell - Draugen

Sonomatic has secured a significant three-year call-off contract to support Shell U.K.'s Upstream North Sea and Onshore operations.

Sonomatic is providing non-destructive testing (NDT) and integrity engineering services in the UK North and Southern North Sea Sectors until 2013, with Shell UK then able to exercise the option to extend the arrangement for two further consecutive one-year periods.

The initial contract covers two service areas:

•Specialist NDT, including Time of Flight Diffraction (ToFD), ultrasonic corrosion scanning, phased array, Creeping Head-wave Inspection Method (CHIME®), and long-range ultrasonic testing. •Inspection engineering, including inspection plan set-up and engineering judgment on technical integrity covering visual, tank and welding inspection. Sonomatic General Manager John Lilly said, "We have been working with Shell U.K. since 1987 and this contract builds on our already excellent relationship while also further consolidating our position as a market leader in providing offshore NDT."
