Antrim announces successful high rate gas test in Argentina-Spotlight

Calgary-based Antrim Energy Inc. has a new hydrocarbon discovery in Argentina after two wells struck an oil column in ancient Cretacious rock.

Swab testing of the Medianera wells for 93 barrels of oil per day from 12 metres of net pay showed “lateral” promise when corroborated by 3D seismic.

Wells M3001 and M3002 went down to 1,400 metres before being perforated has a significant lateral extent.

Completion work is now needed to keep the well from water incursion.

Meanwhile, gas tested upwards of 3 million cubic feet per day, and shallower oil produced and trucked 5 kilometres to an Antrim-owned battery and sales point.

Antrim will now seek out drillilng equipment, a statement said.
