U.K.-based BG Group has won the job of supplying up to three million tonnes a year of liquiefied natural gas to Singapore’s Jurong Island LNG terminal.
The 20-year deal starts with deliveries in 2012, when the terminal opens.
Singapore’s Energy Market Authority had already designated PowerGas Ltd., a business of Singapore Power Ltd., the job of building, owning and operating the site.
BG Group is the main supplier of LNG to the United States and of Atlantic Basin LNG to Asia markets.
The Group has long-term purchase agreements with Equatorial Guinea LNG, Nigeria LNG, Egyptian LNG and Atlantic LNG in Trinidad and Tobago.
Singapore authorities have announced a coming housing boom, as job-seekers continue to supply the vibrant city-state’s economy.
