U.K. supermajor BP has reportedly offered Russian gas monopoly, Gazprom, a stake in its Atlantic project for liquefied natural gas in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Atlantic LNG offer was reported by Thomson-Financial citing a report in newspaper Vedomosti which pointed to sources at BP’s TNK-BP joint-venture.
If true, the deal would suggest the first fruit of a strategic alliance declared by the two companies in June which was seen as easing Gazprom’s ownership stake in the Kovytka gas field.
