Coastal Energy said its business APICO in Thailand has tested a production support well at 10 million cubic feet per day after directionally drilling from the site of a production well.

The Phu Horm-10 well on the Phu Horm gas field off northeast Thailand bored 2,068 metres into the seabed and found the primary reservoir, Pha Nok Khao. The aim of the well was future capacity, but drilling it confirmed “Phu Horm is a major gas field”

APICO, which is 36-percent owned by Coastal, plans in November to drill outside the current production for a test of the southern extension of Phu Horm plus an appraisal of the Dong Mun gas discovery in block L27/43.
