Consafe secure contract from Perenco

Aberdeen-based Consafe Engineering Services Ltd have been awarded a GBP1.5 million contract by international oil and gas group, Perenco, for a new 12-man living accommodation complex as part of the development program for the Trent gas production platform, located in the Southern North Sea.

David Moore, Consafe’s Sales and Marketing Manager stated: "The project has posed several unique challenges including an in-place weight limitation of 120 tons, resolution of a complex installation interface and a fast-track, construction delivery period of 17 weeks from contract award.

"The contract cements our continued success and improvement in this most competitive market and, with the dedicated people we have and the quality services and products we offer, we are confident that our place as a market leader in modular design and build will continue."

The accommodation complex, comprising 10 modular units over two levels and providing all the amenities, services and utilities required to accommodate 12 personnel, includes six high-spec cabins with en-suite shower-rooms, a fully-fitted galley with kitchen and storage facilities, laundry, sickbay, recreation lounge, locker-room, offices and gymnasium.

The contract entails the in-house engineering and design, the build, and the delivery to Great Yarmouth. The modules will all be fabricated in Scotland and outfitted at Consafe’s Aberdeen facility. It is also envisaged that Consafe’s experienced hook-up team will be used on the platform for the installation supervision and integration of the accommodation.

This contract from Perenco, along with others received from the likes of BP and Stena puts Consafe in a strong position to beat this year’s sales target. As a result of the expanding order book, Consafe are looking to expand their workforce to meet the demand.
