U.K. independent Dana Petroleum will spend up to £180 million ($269.3 million) exploring and building up its oil and gas holdings in 2009, the company has said.
Dana still needs three rigs for three of the 17 wells it plans in the new year. Drilling in Morocco, Egypt, West of Shetlands and Norway is planned.
Key wells include the Rinnes, Tornado and Anne Marie prospects West of Shetland plus the Eitri and Trolla wells in Norway. In Egypt it’s the SE July and Neferititi wells in the Gulf of Suez plus two wells in the prolific offshore Nile delta, Egypt.
Company production for 2008 is seen averaging some 40,000 barrels per day oil equivalent, or 30 percent growth over 2007.
