Norway-based supply ship company DOF and India’s largest shipbuilder, Cochin Shipyard, have signed a deal to build two Aker supply ships to serve the still buoyant offshore industry.

The ships cost NOK245 million ($46.5 million) each and will be delivered late in 2010.

One Aker PSV 09 CD design will be owned by DOF, the other by Aker DOF Supply, of which DOF owns 50 percent.
