Norway-based offshore shipping company DOF has signalled a new contract in Brazil with OGX Petroleo e Gas Ltda. for the delivery of an anchor-handling tug supply vessel, or AHTS.

The vessel — being built at Aker Promar’s Brazilian yard — will work under a three-year, 320-million-kroner ($51.5 million) contract with a possible one-year extention for DOF business NorSkan Offshore Ltd.

The ship, still named Hull 25, will start work in December 2010, but the contract will start in July 2009, and DOF will substitute the Skandi Møgster so work can start sooner.
