Energy North, the North’s leading organisation for energy and engineering businesses, will be exhibiting at Oil & Gas UK’s PILOT share fair to be held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on November 2.

“We’ve exhibited at the PILOT share fair for a number of years now,” said Energy North chief executive Ian Couper, “and we have been impressed with it each year.

“The fact that it is a focused event with a clear target audience in mind means that we, and others, invariably get to speak to the right people – senior representatives from the key players in the oil and gas industry. It’s a great atmosphere in which to have quality discussions – not just for us, but for everyone who attends.

“There are also a number of Energy North members who will be exhibiting at the event and we would expect them to get plenty out of it too. We will be holding an informal networking event in the Express by Holiday Inn next to the exhibition centre on the evening before the PILOT share fair, and that will be another opportunity for sharing information.”

One of the targets for Energy North from the event will be to boost the oil and gas section of its Ignite energy information database. Ignite is a single source for all relevant information on oil and gas activities on the west coast of Scotland and provides relevant renewable energy information in the area for wave, tidal, offshore and onshore wind, hydro and biomass interests.

“The renewables section of Ignite is working extremely well and we have information on every project in that sector in the North of Scotland. The oil and gas section of the data base is looking good too, but it can always be improved and we will be hoping to do that with new information gained following our meetings at the PILOT share fair.”
