Italian oil company ENI and Calgary’s Stratic Energy Corp. have give authorities their plans to develop the Longanesi field in Italy's fertile Po Valley.
One year of waiting for official approval is expected to yield the San Potito and Bagnacavallo production concessions. Drilling and construction is seen starting up late in 2010.
The development plan includes three new wells, the completion of two existing wells as producers, the building of a pipeline gathering system and processing plant and connection to the national gas grid. First gas is targeted for 2011.
ENI and Stratic plan a single development at the Longanesi gas discovery.
“Italy provides many opportunities to pick up exploration acreage on reasonable terms,” Stratic's Web site says.
