U.K. oil independents Dana Petroleum and Venture Production have declared the 40,000 barrel-per-day Kittiwake-Unity-Forties oil pipeline open.

The 33-kilometre line will lift Venture’s production by 25,000 bpd to 30,000 bpd, although the 10-inch line will service the parties’ 50-50 Greater Kittiwake Area.

Export throughput for the Kittiwake pipeline includes flows from the Kittiwake, Mallard, Gadwall and Goosander fields.

The newly tested Grouse field is also within range, as are the undeveloped discoveries Christian, Bligh, Whinchat and Wagtail.
