The challenges associated with light well intervention (LWI) in shallow water will be discussed at a lunch and learn session by leading oil and gas industry body the Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) European Chapter, in Aberdeen on Tuesday, May 17.

Jasper Naylor, sub sea well intervention engineer at BP will highlight the challenges associated with BP’s most shallow subsea intervention at Minerva M1, a dry gas subsea well situated in 42 metres water depth in the Southern North Sea.

The event, held at the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa, will start at 11.45am and will include a lunch. It is the latest in a series of events being held by ICoTA Europe this year, leading up to the organisation’s well intervention seminar in Stavanger on Tuesday, May 31.

ICoTA Europe chairman Rob Grassick said: “There are several challenges associated with light well intervention in shallow waters and our event on Tuesday will give people a chance to learn how these can be overcome or addressed.

“We are expecting a healthy turnout of members and non members to discuss this important topic, but I would still encourage anyone with a interest in this subject to come along.

“Our events not only stimulate good debate, they are also a great way to network with some of the leading figures in the European intervention and coiled tubing industry.”
