The holiday season hasn’t stopped subsea contractor Technocean raising 35 million kroner ($5 million) and hiring a new chief exec.

Technocean is company of offshore and seismic vessel owner GC Rieber Shipping. Technocean bought up Scan Mudring this year and says the new money could help fund new investments.

GC Rieber Shipping picked up 24 million kroner and institutional investors the other 11 million of the newly issued stock.

New chief exec John Dale replaces Bjarte Fageraas. As a vice president of business development, Dale presided over much of the expansion of subsea engineering outfit AGR in the North Sea.
