A weakening U.S. dollar is keeping up the pressure on the price of oil, sending a barrel to Texas crude to $98.16 on Wednesday.

Reuters reported analyst consensus around oil reaching $100 within days. The triple-digit price level has long been hyped into a psychological marker, and some have predicted a new dawn for political demonstrations against fossil fuel use.
