Canadian Natural Resources in the Ivory Coast has awarded Norway-based Prosafe an order to alter the Espoir Ivoirien floating production storage and offloading vessel, or FPSO, for 20,000 more barrels of oil equivalent per day.
The Espoir field offshore will gets its upgraded FPSO by year-end 2009 after the addition of a new separation module, gas-compression module and associated system modifications.
The new 70 000 boed ship had already been converted for CNR by Prosafe in 2002 under a 10-year contract with 10 one-year options.
