London-based Serica Energy has reported the test of its Kambuna No. 3 well has flowed to 40 million standard cubic feet per day, as one by one, the company’s area wells turn offshore Sumatra, Indonesia, into a rich producing zone.
This second of three production tests at Kambuna augurs well for first gas by year-end 2008. A pipeline to shore and offshore feeders for the local market is in the works.
Kambuna-tested a 94-foot interval and also flowed nearly 3,000 barrels a day of light oil. In April, the No. 2 appraisal well flowed steady at of 33 MMScfd. A final Kambuna 4 will test in the coming weeks.
