Calgary-based Colombia producer Solana Resources Ltd. said Thursday its Los Aceites No. 1 has flowed 5,645 barrels of oil per day of high quality black gold.
The 48 hours of test flows came from reservoir 7,000 feet deep, from which a shorter “clean-up” test flowed nearly 7,000 barrels per day of oil from the Carbonera C-7 formation.
Company engineers were most impressed by pressure data which showed “permeabilities in excess of three darcies” with less than a 15 percent fall in pressure after a long test flow of 5,600-plus barrels.
The well is now shut in “pending government approval of an extended test” hoped for in October.
All Solana’s production in the area, which includes the Primavera No. 1 well, is being trucked while permanent facilities are being planned.
