During the next September 7 to 9 will be made in Montevideo (Uruguay) the official announcement of the Uruguay Round II, the Hydrocarbons Offshore Exploration and Production Bid. The event will be held in the Radisson Montevideo Victoria Plaza Hotel. Since the first bid in 2009 there are some oil companies working in the Uruguayan offshore, as Petrobras, YPF and GALP.

The official announcement of the Round comprises conferences regarding business and investment in the upstream of Uruguay. It will gather the main authorities of the Uruguayan government, including the Uruguayan President, the Secretary of Industry, Energy and Mining, the Secretary of Economy and Finance, the Director of Energy, in addition to Directors of ANCAP, advisors, CEOs of the E&P sector, as well as international E&P experts, with the aim to illustrate about investment opportunities in E&P for the offshore Uruguayan basins. The program will include geology and exploratory potential of the offshore basins; bidding round terms; legal framework for hydrocarbon exploration, investment promotion policies and environmental protection framework.
