Duncan Bonner - Director, Steminic Ltd.,

North-east-based environmental services group Steminic Ltd., the parent company of MS Industrial Services and ITS Environmental Services, has apponted a new business development director.

Duncan Bonner has taken up the new role within the group, bringing with him a wealth of valuable experience.

Mr Bonner, from Aberdeen, has worked within the oil and gas industry for 25 years – the last 10 of which have seen him hold board and senior management positions – and, of particular relevance, in recent years has acquired experience in environmental and waste management services.

The appointment has been announced as Steminic gears up to expand in the coming period, with Mr Bonner being installed in the position to provide support and direction for the next phase of the development of the group.

Focusing on both North Sea and overseas markets, his role will involve him identifying business development opportunities, which will allow for future investment and additional acquisitions.

This latest development comes after the group announced earlier this year it had acquired the UK business and assets of ITS Drilling Services in a deal worth around £1 million, in a move which saw the business switch its trading name to ITS Environmental Services Ltd (ITS).

At the time the acquisition was secured, Steminic – which previously acquired leading North-east industrial cleaning and waste disposal company MSIS in a £6 million deal in 2007 – also announced it was leasing new office and warehouse space at Sauchen, with ITS and MSIS also relocating their Aberdeen offices to the new base, where there is scope for further expansion.

Mr Bonner, 48, commented on his appointment: “I see this as a great opportunity to impact on the short, medium and long term goals of a forward thinking company. My main aim is to continue to grow our customer base and to ensure we are constantly meeting – and indeed exceeding – their needs and expectations.

“These are certainly exciting times for Steminic and I look forward to playing my role in the future growth and success of the group.”

Chief Executive of Steminic Ltd, Chris Lloyd, added: “We are delighted to have someone of Duncan’s talent and expertise join us at Steminic. With his knowledge and experience in growing businesses – on both a local level and on the international stage – I’ve no doubt he will become a valuable addition to the team."
